90% Chinese consumers willing to share personal information

A SAP Hybris report shows that the current number of Internet users in China has reached 731 million, of which more than half use mobile Internet, whereby 4.69 billion users have mobile wallets. China is thus of the world leading level in terms of online shopping and payment innovations.

Chinese consumer expectations of brands continue to improve, as the survey shows that in the digital age, Chinese consumers particularly value the personalized service, hoping the brand provides a positive response from the rapid, personalized customer service.

Compared to brands outside China (86%), more Chinese consumers are willing to share personal information with Chinese brands (90%): 57% willing to share emails, 51% willing to share shopping records, 38% willing to share mobile numbers, 22% willing to share monthly income information, 35% willing to help brands collect data through social media accounts, to help brands better understand spending habits and needs. Over 40% Chinese Who Bought Counterfeit Products Kept Silent

According to a survey conducted by Tencent Tech news, 40.3% of those who encountered counterfeit products purchase in online shopping in China will do no more than never visiting the same online store again. 32.2% complained and got the refund whilst 16 complained but failed to get the refund.

53% of the respondents think the number of online shopping scams increased; and, 27.1% felt the same. Only 9.3% think the number of counterfeit products has decreased.

58.2% China online shoppers bought the counterfeit products due to the manipulated online store reviews and ratings according to the survey.

49.3% of online shopping dissatisfaction are due to counterfeit products whilst 28.9% are due to the inaccurate product descriptions, 23.3% for bad post-purchase customer service.

Baidu Zhidao Launched Q&A Platform for Enterprises

Following up the fake customer service phone in Baidu search results, Baidu has officially launched a tool for companies to submit their customer service hotline for free.

Dell Hotline in Baidu SERP

The “hotline box” is triggered when users conduct a search on Baidu for customer service phone number. Users can then dial the number displayed on the phone or click on the “phone icon” to find out more on Dell’s website.

How to Submit Customer Service Hotline to Baidu

To get your customer service number indexed,

You must own the company or could represent it
Company or website name must be uniquely identifiable; it can’t be ambiguous
The website you submit must have a contact us page
You must have a unified national telephone number if your business has multiple branches

To submit your information, you must have a Baidu account

Login with Baidu account (register here if you don’t have one)
Add new resources > customer service
Fill in contact information including keyword, customer service phone number, company name and destination URL; you can add multiple phones
Specify an expiry date (or never expire)
Submit (pending approval)

Companies with large amount of customer service phone data can submit XML file as well.
